1. BeckITSystems, Inc. exists to provide its clients with affordable computer support and resources with which to execute business strategy as well as to be a great place to work. We treat everyone with patience and respect. We include appropriate fun.  We are mindful that our attitude determines our altitude and builds our client’s confidence in the trust they have in us.

2. We stop, look, listen and think through the entire scope of work. We find out what our clients want us to do. We ask questions to find out what has been done.  We never assume we understood the full scope of what our client wants. We strive for best possible service for the client, we do the best job possible to meet the client’s needs, while we think ahead and anticipate issues and advantages for our client.

3. We plan and document all work in writing in the Professional Services Automation (PSA) Software. We believe in thorough documentation in order to stand on the shoulders of the last experience for our clients rather than reinventing the wheel with each service request.

4. We complete the work on the first try whenever possible. We don’t start something until we are ready to finish it well.  Not doing so is costly to the organization and to the client. We have a 2 minute rule: If something takes less than 2 minutes, we do it now, it will save much more time later. 

5. We shift gears at the proper time. If we work on something for 15 minutes without success, we escalate the effort.  We do not stay with an approach that will result in unrealistic cost to the client.  When the client can receive the maximum benefit, we quickly call on other team members or a manufacturer for support.

6. We take responsibility and ownership. We are here for the benefit of our clients.  If we make a mistake, we make sure it is not a fatal error, and we own up to it. We believe that occasional small mistakes are not tragic so long as we confess them and fix them quickly.

7. We challenge our assumptions. We don’t assume we have understood what our client wants. We listen carefully for the outcome the client needs.  We never assume what the client wants will work.  We keep our sites on the client’s big picture.  We always remember the client’s business, their goals, and the client organization’s in the context of our work.

8. We document accurately. We document everything in the PSA in plain English always avoiding “Geek Speak”.  This includes our time sheets, client orders, service requests, client and corporate contacts, activities, discussions, and everything that will help the team serve each client with excellence.

9. We continuously test. We test our assumptions, our designs and our implementations.  We don t let the client find issues before we do.  Once we have completed the goal of a service request, we test everything related to the work ensuring the solution works and that things like printers, phones, conference bridges, mapped drives, and more are fully functional.

10. We always have a data backup between us and a mistake. We take great measures to ensure that all client data is continuously safe from disaster, operator error or mechanical malfunctions.
